Northwest Disc Golf Championship: FPO Lookahead
- FPO1 feature card: Holyn Handley, Ohn Scoggins, Missy Gannon & Paige Pierce
- FPO2 feature card: Rebecca Cox & Sofia Donnecke
Here is a look at the top storylines this weekend:
1️⃣ Handleys dominance of Oregon could continue
No FPO player was more consistent than Holyn Handley in 2025, and no player (except maybe Paige Pierce) feels more comfortable in Oregon. She returns to the northwest as the defending champion of Beaver State, the current DGPT Points leader (from 131.33 points to Lätt) and ended the top 5 at every event. With the recent history on her side-in one side in second place in both the 2024 Portland Open and 2023 Beaver State Fling-I is Handley well positioned to pursue your third season win of the Elite (in Austin and Kansas City) and to consolidate your control over the route.
2️⃣ Gannon follows three direct direct
Missy Gannon enters the northwest disc golf championships with tears. After the back-to-back win at the 2025 PDGA Champions Cup and at the Cascade Challenge, she has been the first FPO player since Kristin Lätt to win three events for the major / elite series. Her consistency at Elite level continues to shine: Gannon has 87 events in a row (since the 2022 Las Vegas Challenge), which is connected to Juliana Korver to summarize the longest known stripes in FPO history. If your putter stays warm, a three-gate is good within reach.
3️⃣ Paige Pierce returns to a proven battlefield
Paige Pierce has more elite series victory in Oregon than every FPO player in history, with five wins in the state, including last year's Portland Open, where she exceeded Handley in an thrilling performance of -26. Pierce also has two victories in Beaver State Fling (2019 & 2017) and has never ended before the top 10 at Oregon Tour Events. After a tardy start by 2025, she found her step with podiums at the Cascade Challenge and Champions Cup. This is an event location – and a moment – for a Paigen -Pierce boost.
4️⃣ Can a recent name break through in the northwest?
The lack of several top Europeans, including Kristin Lätt, opens the door for a potential first winner or a return to the podium for players such as Ella Hansen, Jennifer Allen and Silva Saarinen. Hansen knows these Oregon courses well and is one of the most explosive players in the tour when they are on. Everyone is an earlier Beaver State Fling winner (2023) and has the electricity game to keep up with Milo and Glendoveer. Saarinen still rises in the overall ranking and could be presented for an outbreak.
Northwest Disc Golf Championship: MPO Lookahead
- MPO1 feature card: Gannon Buhr, Cole Redals, Simon Lizotte and Isaac Robinson
- MPO2 feature card: Anthony Barela, Ezra Robinson, Nate Sexton and Albert Tamm
Here is a look at the top storylines this weekend:
1️⃣ Gannon Buhr is supposed to be repeated and again
Last year Gannon Buhr sat for just one victory in the pre -season last year before one of the most dominant routes in the recent history started additional tour victories, including both Portland Open and the Beaver State, on the way to the player of 2024. Buhr now this surf has only one win in the books for 2025 -but he is number 1 in the DGPT and The whole season about pointed, so that this season is almost 85% of the time for Birdie or better from C1X from C1X. Can lightning beat twice in the northwest of Pacific?
2️⃣ Anthony Barela Riding career-high consistency
Anthony Barela Frisch from his first win of the season at The Cascade Challenge and arrives in Portland with the longest top 20 series of his career (10 events in a row). It is an element sheet in the creation of the middle of the season in the middle of the season with a 44th in Portland and 61st in the Beaver State and began a distance of eight events, in which he took five times outside of 35th place. Barela's putter remains one of the best when it is critical: he converted almost 92% of his C1X putts if he scrabling this season after saving par-or-work. If he can keep his putter on fire this weekend, we may see an auction over his history of 2024.
3️⃣ Wysockis Oregon Record is inviolable
With 13 direct top 10 surfaces in Oregon M/ES events (from 14 starts), Ricky Wysocki is the model of consistency in the PNW. He also has two winnings from Beaver State Fling and returned to Milo Mciver in 2016 and 2017. The place in the DGPT classification in the DGPT classification is still looking for the first victory of 2025. Be surprised to see him again this weekend on the hunt.
4️⃣ Can Eagle McMahon recapture his Portland magic?
Only a few players found the same top-of-the-podium in the northwest of the Pacific northwest as Eagle McMahon, who achieved four victories in Oregon between 2018 and 2023, including three Beaver State Flings (2018, 2019, 2023) and Portland Open 2021. Courses on a constant murky horse. If Eagle can choose the putt and unleash its brand -shaped power lines, he could all remind you of why he once ruled these forests.
The entire campaign begins on Thursday, May 29th! On the Discgolf network and after the pro-pro report from fangs of Jomezpro The whole weekend.
