Cascade Challenge: FPO LookaHead
- FPO1 feature card: Holyn Handley, Kat Mertsch, Missy Gannon and Ella Hansen
- FPO2 feature card: Raven Klein, Hanna Huynh, Paige Pierce and Eliezra Midlyng
Here is a look at the top storylines this weekend:
1️⃣ Missy Gannon follows more than one victory
Fresh of her Second career PDGA per main victory At the Champions Cup, Missy Gannon goes into the Cascade Challenge with sedate dynamics – and a shot on history. Gannon now occupies second place in both DGPT Elite and significant events (USD $ 324,514) and has only selected Kristin Lätt in both categories at these events ($ 173,248). But with only $ 305, which she separated from the top from the top tip in the entire DGPT Elite/Major revenue, a money would make “Huge Money Missy” this weekend the fresh all-time leader.
In Gannon, her player rating also rose five points to 985 in the field. Can she break her trend of slower follow-ups with her shape and make her 13th DGPT/Major title correct?
2️⃣ Holyn Handley looks like cement No. 1
Holyn Handley, the best rated player on the field (991), was a model of consistency in 2025-six events, six top 5s and two victories (open in Austin and KCWO). With a enormous part of the European contingent, Handley is in a first -class position to extend your DGPT point -lead and to secure your third win of the season. Nobody in the field was more stable.
3️⃣ Kat Mertsch returns to her breakout place of establishment
Kat Mertsch won the Cascade Challenge in 2023 When it was a silver series event and she quietly compiled a robust – albeit unspectacular – 2025. So far she has played every M/ES event and has never missed the top 10, but has not even reached the podium. With a round of 1024 in Shelton Springs, which is already under the belt and in this course of success, it may be possible.
Cascade Challenge: MPO Lookahead
- MPO1 feature card: Isaac Robinson, Paul Mcbeth, Niklas Antila and Ricky Wysocki
- MPO2 feature card: Scott Withers, Ezra Robinson, Andrew Marwede and Anthony Barela
Here is a look at the top storylines this weekend:
1️⃣ Can Niklas Antilla go in a row?
The reigning Cascade Challenge Champion, which secured a dominant 10-stroke victory in Shelton Springs in 2024 in Shelton Springs, is also the only MPO player with several DGPT/Major victories this season. Antilla sank the course last year with a first round of 1098 and was a model for a composed consistency, which in 2025 achieved an average rating from 1043.5 to 17 rounds.
Back-to-back victories at the same event are uncommon on the DGPT, especially with a reinforced field. But with the proven form in Shelton Springs and two wins that were already before his belt, Antilla has an attempt to join Elite Company with a defense.
2️⃣ The “West Coast Whisperer” – Isaac Robinson's boost
Fresh from his 4. Career -PDGA Pro Major title at the PDGA Champions CupIsaac Robinson joins the Cascade Challenge to extend a fascinating after-major trend: he was second in every DGPT or major event that he played immediately after a win.
Even more convincing? Since 2022, Robinson on the west coast has had a top 5 gland of 71%more than twice its 33%rate elsewhere. If the story applies, you expect it to be correct in the mixture on Sunday … if you don't raise the trophy.
3️⃣ Is the Wysocki time to be a shine?
Ricky Wysocki got on the rows in 2025, and his second place in the Kansas City Wide Open signals he heats. Wysocki, who is now 8th place in the overall ranking, has returned to the Champions Cup to Champions Cup since his last massive victory (2017 Worlds). Despite the drought, his Swenson park statistics are elite: 2nd best artist in three appearances. Ricky has the shape and fire with podium days in almost 60% of his DGPT/Major start last season.
4️⃣ Gannon Buhr: Consistency king or an outbreak threat?
Nobody was more stable in 2025 than Gannon Buhr. The No. 1 player in the DGPT classificationBuhr leads the tour in the average round rating (1053.7) and has five top 5 positions in six events. His only flaw? A 12th place at the start of the season (top flight open).
Buhr may not have the headlines of a PDGA Pro Major Champions or an incumbent DGPT -Event winner, but his composed dominance and his relentless consistency have him to win exactly to win in Shelton. Add a 31-event top-20 series to the longest dynamic person on tour and it is only a matter of time before the dam breaks again.
The entire campaign begins on Friday, May 16! On the Discgolf network and after the pro-pro report from fangs of Jomezpro The whole weekend.
